1) Instead of the original C71 supplied with the base K2, install the 120 pF cap provided with the Elecraft

K60XV option, or the Rework Eliminator™

K60XV Parts kit. Installation of this alternate value for C71 and diodes D19 and D20 (on page 50) are inseparable, if you install a 120 pF cap at C71, then

you must also install D19 and D20. In addition, you must change the Extended VFO Range (D19) Secondary menu as described on page 60.

If you are building an older (pre-S/N 3000 K2) and you want it to be “Plug & Play Ready” for the Elecraft

K160RX, then you need to check that C68 and

C153 have the values shown. These two caps are provided with the Elecraft

K160RX option and by the Rework Eliminator™ Replacement RF Caps kit.
